11u Coaching Staff

This is Kris’ second year with the West Ashley Baseball Club program. Kris joined the coaching staff on the 10U team in the 2024 season and is now the Head Coach for the 2025 11U team.

Kris grew up in a military family, playing youth baseball all over the world until finally settling down in Virginia. The very first baseball game Kris saw was a Mets game from the 1986 World Series sent to him on VHS tape from his grandfather while Kris was living in Germany. Ever since that first game, Kris grew up a Mets fan, with his favorite player being Gary Carter (who Kris got to meet at Shea Stadium while Carter was playing for the Expos in 1992).

Kris attended high school in northern Virginia, playing baseball at Chantilly High School. He then earned his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, where he played on Virginia Tech’s NCBA Club Baseball team. Throughout his playing days, Kris predominantly played middle infield and pitched. Kris’ first coaching experience was coaching an 11U All-Star team in 2001, and instantly knew he had a passion for coaching. He loved working with the kids, helping them develop and maintain a growth mindset, teaching them about the game, and watching them develop a love for the game. Kris moved to Charleston with his wife, Krista, in 2007. He returned to coaching as soon as their son, Karter, could swing a bat, and has been coaching regularly since 2018.
